ADDISON, TX<\/strong> \u2013 Today, Julie Johnson announced raising over $275,000 within just 24 hours of launching her campaign for Congress in Texas\u2019 32nd Congressional District. State Representative Julie Johnson surpassed expectations having just been released from the state fundraising moratorium on Monday. With only nine days left to raise campaign funds before the June 30th deadline, Johnson\u2019s day one fundraising haul showcases her broad appeal and organizing prowess.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\u201c<\/b>I am so grateful for the immense support we\u2019ve received from across our district and state,\u201d <\/i><\/b>said Julie Johnson. <\/span><\/i>\u201cThis shows that our message of creating a stronger, more inclusive Texas that works for everyone is resonating with people. Just as I\u2019ve done in the Texas House, I\u2019m prepared to go to Washington and deliver real results on day one.<\/i><\/b>\u201d<\/b><\/p>\n

In addition to her strong fundraising, Julie has already received the support of the Texas AFT chapter of the American Federation of Teachers, the Texas Hospital Association, Equality PAC, LPAC, the Human Rights Campaign, multiple members of the U.S. House, Texas House, and supporters across the district.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

About Julie<\/strong><\/p>\n

Since 2019, Julie has served in the Texas House after defeating the author of the Texas \u201cBathroom Bill\u201d by double digits. As a legislator, she has earned a reputation for being a staunch defender of those who have been kicked around and pushed aside. Julie has passed bills to ensure life-saving drugs for Texans aren\u2019t held up by prior-authorization requirements. She protected victims of sexual assault by demanding transparency about repeat offenders from state boards. She ensured that survivors of Dallas first responders who die in the line of duty have full access to benefits. Julie also helped maintain funding for Parkland Health System. As the Vice Chair of the Texas Women\u2019s Health Caucus, Julie has been on the front lines in the fight for reproductive rights .<\/p>\n

As a Texas educated attorney, Julie fought into the courtroom at a time when women weren\u2019t being hired to litigate cases. She has defended workers\u2019 rights, stood up for the mentally disabled, and helped students who were taken advantage of by for-profit colleges.<\/p>\n

Julie lives in Farmers Branch with her wife, Susan Moster, a practicing Gastroenterologist in Fort Worth. They have two sons, Nicholas and Ben.<\/p>\n
