Director of Constituent Services
Job Summary:
Working closely with the District Director and Field Director, the Director of Constituent Services oversees the team of caseworkers. Responsible for assessing casework for problems requiring legislative action and/or Congressional oversight.
Job Description:
- Serves as a liaison with federal governments to address individual constituent concerns
- Monitors casework trends to provide updates to the Member and District Director
- Prepares incoming and outgoing constituent casework to manage casework for all caseworkers in their assigned areas of expertise
- Maintains accurate and complete files on all assigned casework to keep track of all casework progress
- Screens and monitors cases to determine if referring the case to other government entities is appropriate
- Answers casework correspondence, meets with constituents and serves as a liaison with federal, state, and local authorities to act as the representative for the Member within their areas of responsibility
- Writes responses to constituent letters relating to casework to answer questions or inform them of case progress
- Manage the team of caseworkers in the office to ensure all constituent inquiries are responded to and eventually reach a resolution
- Organizes workload to prioritize tasks under varying deadlines and ensure work is completed in an efficient and effective manner

Caseworker
Job Summary:
A Caseworker plays an important role by serving as the Member’s community representative for issues and programs within their assigned portfolio. A Caseworker monitors and updates the Caseworker Director on important local issues, emerging trends, and critical developments. They also serve as a liaison to federal, state, and local government entities on behalf of the Member’s constituents.

District Staff Assistant
Job Summary:
The Staff Assistant is responsible for managing the front desk during office hours and giving constituents, guests, and other VIPs a first impression of the Member office. This position also handles incoming calls, flag requests, and administrative office needs and assists the office staff with work as assigned.
Job Description:
- Greets constituents, visitors, and other VIPs to provide a welcoming environment and a positive first impression of the office
- Handles incoming calls and captures constituent requests to ensure consideration by the Member office
- Maintains literature regarding the district and House offices to distribute to visitors
- Monitors and organizes requests for assistance to ensure that they are directed to the appropriate staff member promptly
- Signs for deliveries and forwards all materials delivered to ensure timely and appropriate handling
- Performs general administrative assignments as assigned to assist the office staff with work
- Answers and directs incoming calls and constituent inquiries to appropriate staff
- Assists visitors who have appointments with the Member or other staff
- Works closely with the District Director to ensure that the Member’s appointments are on time
- Orders all office supplies to maintain office equipment

District Office Internship
Job Summary:
This position offers a unique opportunity to gain insight into the daily operations of a congressional district office, engage with constituents, and contribute to meaningful community outreach efforts. Interns will develop professional skills, build their knowledge of government operations, and make a positive impact in Texas’s 32nd Congressional District.
Internship Overview:
Constituent Services
- Assist in responding to constituent inquiries and concerns via phone, mail, and email.
- Support casework by helping constituents navigate federal agencies, such as Social Security, Medicare, Veterans Affairs, and U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services.
- Log and track constituent interactions and casework requests using internal databases.
Community Engagement
- Participate in planning and staffing outreach events, including town halls, office hours, and community forums.
- Represent the office at community events, building relationships with local organizations and stakeholders.
- Contribute to initiatives aimed at strengthening the district’s ties to the Congresswoman’s office.
Office Administration
- Greet and assist constituents visiting the office, providing a welcoming and professional environment.
- Perform general office duties, including answering phones, managing mail, filing, and maintaining office supplies.
- Maintain organized records and ensure data accuracy for office reports.
Policy and Research Support
- Conduct research on local and federal issues to assist staff in developing briefings and memos.
- Monitor local news and flag issues relevant to the district or constituents.
Communications Assistance
- Draft constituent correspondence, including thank-you letters, congratulatory messages, and informational materials.
- Assist in creating content for newsletters, press releases, and social media updates to engage the community.
- Track and summarize constituent feedback and opinions on policy matters.
